Litchfield, MN Independent Review
Independent Review editor Brent Schacherer told readers that he was withholding some letters about Wal-Mart because "letters that comment about hourly wages, employee numbers or prices, for example, simply don't belong on this page." He added: "If we ran such letters, wouldn't we also be obligated to publish letters that celebrated the great, low prices of products at any business? It's a fairness issue, whether one is talking about a huge multi-national corporation or the mom-and-pop store down the street." (The column is from December, but it's still worth discussing.)
