Steve Butler has been named executive director of the Institute of Current World Affairs. A memo to bureau staffers says: "We're sad because we're losing a wonderful colleague -- a talented editor, a witty colleague, a solid friend. Steve has for several years had the incredibly challenging job of managing our coverage from the Middle East."
