Michael Calderone reports Ron Fournier is trying to move the AP Washington bureau's signature neutral and detached tone to an aggressive, plain-spoken style of writing that Fournier describes as "cutting through the clutter." An AP staffer tells Calderone: "I think there's mixed feelings -- there's reluctance. The AP has always been a just-the-facts type of organization."
