Roll Call's Morton Kondracke; Mother Jones' David Corn; and Washington Times reporters Bill Gertz and Joseph Curl have made paid appearances on the US government-funded Alhurra Arabic news channel in the last six months. "Although it is common for television networks to pay journalists who appear on their programs, many reporters decline to accept money from government-funded organizations," write Dafna Linzer and Paul Kiel. "Still, a number of veteran Washington reporters earned hundreds of dollars for appearing on Alhurra and some said they saw no conflict of interest in accepting government funds."
