New York Times deputy managing editor Jonathan Landman "has now shot directly into the top tier of candidates" for the Washington Post executive editor job, according to Michael Calderone. He writes: "Landman, who oversees The Times digital journalism, could be an ideal choice for the Post, which has been pushing for more cohesion between the print and Web operations." Landman met with Post executive editor Leonard Downie Jr. last Friday.
