In a talk last week at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago,
Peter Schjeldahl said that "Chicago's a great place to be from. It's a place that has always sent talented artists and creative types out -- a net exporter of talent. It's a great place to be, if you have a particular reason, and a great place to visit. But I would call it one of the great receptor cities of the world." THE PROBLEM WITH THE NEW YORKER: "They have more critics than they have pages."
