As the San Antonio Express-News offers buyouts for the second time this year, veteran staffer
John Tedesco tells colleagues that "unless we want a quarterly exodus of our best talent from the newsroom, we're going to have to stop griping privately about the situation, and start having a frank discussion about what we're doing right, and what we're doing wrong." What's wrong, he says, is the paper's "clunky" website. "It's possible we'd still be facing buyouts, even with a perfect site. But maybe if we treated
mysa like the main paper, and poured more creativity and expertise into it, mysa would be far more attractive and informative. Web traffic would increase, and we'd be bringing in more ad revenue." || PLUS: Editor
