Washington Post staffers will now get one of these ratings in their annual evaluations: "frequently exceeds expectations," "sometimes exceeds expectations," "meets expectations,”" “sometimes fails to meet expectations," or "frequently does not meet expectations." Post AME for training and career development Peter Perl knows "some people -- a minority of people -- think this is a prelude to getting rid of people." But he says he wouldn't "design an evaluation system for that purpose."
