After reading about the resignations at the Santa Barbara News-Press,
Dana Parsons tried to imagine what it would take for him to walk out over a principle. "Couldn't think of a darn thing," he writes. "As I've mentioned in past columns, my rent is atrocious. Still, the notion of quitting in protest is one that appeals to journalists, because we pride ourselves in representing truth, justice and the American way (remember, Superman chose newspapering), and how can you represent those qualities adequately if you let The Man walk all over you?"
