Peru Waits for the Candidates

In Peru, after Sunday's election with 20 candidates vying for the vote of Peruvian people, three candidates are getting the most attention.

Ollanta Humala, a nationalist ex-army officer, came in first with near one third of the votes. Two other candidates are tied for second place -- so their supporters are checking news sites frequently for the latest figures.

Local online offerings (in Spanish) are pretty good -- from popular print newspapers such as El Comercio and La República, to portals such as Terra Perú.

Additionally, you can get really good coverage from special sections set up by AgenciaPeru.com and BBC.com (in Spanish and English, of course).
