Huffington Post Isn't Very Sporting
HP
HuffingtonPost.com
The redesigned Huffington Post home page plays up photos and plays down blogs.
As further proof that politics is the new sports, yesterday Arianna Huffington announced a major redesign of the Huffington Post that has everything, it seems, except a sports section. OK, there's no weather, either -- I guess that makes it the anti-USA Today.

But there seems to be everything else: Media, Business, Entertainment, Living Now -- and, of course, Politics. Maybe Politics in the new weather, too?

The HuffPost has never been big on sports, of course, and the subject matter can often be part of anything from entertainment (as it was meant to be) to business (as it too often turns out to be) to politics (which seems to have replaced sports for many of us except Tim Russert).

There's a new design, less cluttered navigation, and improved search. So for the most part, it's the same ball game -- without the ball game.
