Album's No Good, Pick a Song
Posted by Steffen Fjaervik 8:56 AM

Norwegian news site vg.no has started what I think is a great idea. In their music review section, some of the reviews carry suggestions for downloading single tracks. (Maybe other sites already feature the same, I don't know.)

The point is simple: Sometimes a whole album just isn't good enough, or it may not be to your taste, but the odd track can be great. So why not tell readers?

Look at how critic Thomas Talseth suggests you download "Sometimes In The Fall", "Second To None" and other tracks if you don't want to buy the whole new Phoenix album -- even though this album merits a "five" review (out of a possible six).

It's not rocket science, just a simple and interesting proof that slicing and dicing is a prominent feature of today's media consumption.
