It's tough to tell exactly what it is or does, but Fox Interactive Media (owner of MySpace and many other sites) has announced that it bought Newroo, a news aggregator with just three employees. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Newsroo was formed in 2002 by two Brown University students, Dan Gould and Brian Norgard, who were "still developing the technology when Fox bought the company earlier this year." Fox said Newroo "has developed an intelligent tool that scans the Web and finds the most relevant information for users from thousands of Web sites, enabling them to easily create their own Web sites by aggregating and remixing content from third-party websites and blogs."
Newsroo does not appear to have its own site.
Fox Interactive also just bought kSolo.com, "a powerful user-generated music service that enables its community to easily create, share and rate their own recorded music and connect around shared tastes in music genre and style."
Its purchase price and other details also weren't disclosed.
