In the past I have told you about a bunch of cities around the country in which police departments stopped responding to "unverified" burglar alarms. Why? Because so many alarms are just false calls. Cities said they could save money by just ignoring the calls.
Now, to nobody's surprise, in some of those same towns, burglaries are rising. The thieves know they might not get caught because police don't always respond.
