With Monday's
departure of Ann Marie Lipinski from the Chicago Tribune, we seem to be at a point where no one at the
Trib (and we knew this already about the
LA Times, which
lost its publisher today) can get with the program. Lipinski's departure was preceded by abrupt resignations of managing editor George de Lama in May and Publisher Scott Smith in June. All three had several decades of Trib experience.
So what's the program? This would be a great time for someone with a little more gravitas than
Lee Abrams and
Randy Michaels to say.
