Bread crumbs

Bread crumbs are navigational links, usually in a horizontal series at the top of a Web page, that show where you are within a site. A trail of bread crumbs allows online readers to know how the page they're viewing fits into the site's organizational scheme and allows them to find their way back to higher levels. A typical trail of bread crumbs at the pro-football area of a news site, for example, might be:

          Home > Sports > Pro Football
