The Northeast beat extends father north -- and east -- than any other Summer Fellowship beat. It's bordered on the east by Tampa Bay, and it's northernmost point, Snell Isle, is surrounded mostly by bayou. To the north, it's adjacent to the Woodlawn neighborhood of St. Petersburg, and to the east, the
East of 34th Street beat. It incorporates most of Downtown St. Pete, and its southernmost points reach all the way to the
Southeast and
Maggiore beats.
Northeast is home to the
Kids & Kubs 75-and-older softball league,
local and
chaincoffeehouses, public parks with
banyan trees and
carnivals galore. Its
shuffleboard club is the new hip thing and
the alphabet is everywhere. Read some earlier stories about the beat
here and
here, but don't forget to check back on Wednesday, June 13, for a new perspective and new stories from Northeast St. Pete.
