Welcome to The Point!
The Point beat marks the southernmost point of Pinellas County's peninsula. It's bordered on the south and southeast by Tampa Bay, and on the north and northeast by the Maggiore and West of 34th Street beats. To the west is Boca Ciega Bay, a body of water that links the Intracoastal Waterway to Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Meet local firefighters, who work in the shadow of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Learn how to deal with the local threat of lightning. Understand the power of pink. Take a ride on the bus. Spend some time at St. Bartholomew's. You can read some earlier stories about the beat here and here, but don't forget to check back on Wednesday, June 13, for a new perspective and new stories from the Point.
