By Gary Kebbel Journalism Initiatives program officer John S. and James L. Knight Foundation
The news of the future that helps people run or change their lives will be created in the present with the values of the past.
Those
who are creating the best future news products will be people who are
not awed by technology, but who simply see it as presenting new tools
in the service of presenting the fair, accurate, contextual search for
the truth.
How we go about that will change from year to year.
Even month to month. So the important thing is the absolute necessity
of creating a culture that constantly teaches and reinforces the news
organization's values in each employee.
